A resplendent land of lavender perfume, white-blossomed almond trees, and vivid cerulean skies, the Southern Rhône holds a prestigious place in wine history that it honours today by producing some of the most sought-after red wines in the world. Home to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, perhaps the most illustrious wine region on the planet, the Côtes du Rhône holds within its fertile crescent a classified group of villages that line up to form what’s known as the ‘arc of gold’. Part of global wine collective Boutinot’s project to showcase the classic grapes and styles of the famed region, this Arc du Rhône comes from the clever mind of Boutinot winemaker and Rhône enthusiast Julien Dugas. Full-flavoured and assured, it pairs 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah in a trademark blend that puts the smooth, supple, spicy power of the Southern Rhône on
impressive display.

Expect to find

A rich cornucopia of fruit and spice led by succulent blackberry, tart red plum, comforting clove, and
rustic fig

Local knowledge

Côtes du Rhône wines feature pronounced smoothness, juicy fruit flavours, and supple elasticity — all hallmarks of ripe grapes, which the region has in abundance thanks to ‘galets roulés’. These old limestone pebbles capture sunlit warmth during the day and slow-release it into the ground at night, helping keep the vines warm and the
fruit healthy

THE MAKER

Boutinot

The globe-spanning wine collective

In 1980, Paul Boutinot was having trouble finding quality wine to source for his parents’ restaurant. Out of frustration, he started his own plucky little import operation — and as other restaurateurs caught wind of it, it grew legs and blossomed into Boutinot, today a global, truly modern enterprise with a team spread across three continents and wines in a remarkable 40 countries.
Boutinot’s diverse in-house team of winemakers oversee the production of every bottle, whether it’s crafted in partnership with one of the small family growers in Boutinot’s sprawling network or made from fruit picked from one of their sites near the English seaside, amidst the romance of the Southern Rhône, nestled in the verdant valleys of Italy’s Montferrato Hills, or under the watchful gaze of the mountain overlooking South Africa’s rugged Wildeberg farm.
